FullSizeRender 6David Rufo is a doctoral candidate in Teaching and Curriculum in Art Education at Syracuse University. With eighteen years experience as an elementary classroom teacher, David’s current research includes empowering students to become critical agents by fostering choice, autonomy, self-governance, and spontaneous creative learning experiences. David is also a visual artist and an instructor in Art Education at Syracuse University. David has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and publications such as Art Education, Teaching Artist Journal, Power and Education, The Journal of Social Theory in Art Education, Visual Inquiry, Visual Artbeat and The STEAM Journal.
